Tuesday, 16 June 2020 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM NZST

St John's College, 85 Hillcrest Road, Hamilton, Waikato, 3216, New Zealand.

We all want to ensure that our students are best prepared for their NCEA courses and examinations this year. Parents play an important part in this process. The evening is aimed at parents who are either new to/unfamiliar with the New Zealand qualification system - NCEA. The session will cover:

  • The ins and out's of NCEA - Credits, Endorsements, Literacy, Numeracy
  • University Entrance and Scholarship for 2020
  • The need to see the big picture - Progression through NCEA
  • The Kamar Parent Portal - How it can support your child
  • Understanding our NCEA Credit summaries - How to use the information

There will be an explanation of how NZQA has responded to COVID-19 and the impact that this will have on learners in addition to some important strategies for students to use so that they can see success this year.

Please note that there will be another evening later in the year that will focus on study skills/revision for externals. This event is open to all parents and students (Y11-13) but is similar in content to sessions offered in previous years, so don't feel obliged to attend if you've been to one previously.

Please allocate tickets for all those attending. This event will be taking place in the new gym.
